FAQS

What are hose fittings used for?

Hose fittings connect hoses to equipment, pipes, valves and other components, creating secure and leak-free fluid or air transfer systems. They are widely used in industrial machinery, agriculture, workshops, hydraulic systems, pneumatic equipment and automotive applications.

How do I choose the right hose connector?

Choosing the correct hose connector depends on the hose size, thread type, operating pressure, fluid being transferred and the application. Selecting the correct fitting ensures a secure connection, prevents leaks and improves overall system performance.

Are brass or stainless-steel hose fittings better?

Brass hose fittings are commonly used for general-purpose water, air and fuel applications due to their corrosion resistance and durability. Stainless steel fittings offer superior resistance to corrosion and harsh environments, making them ideal for marine, chemical and food-grade applications.

What is the difference between a hose connector and a hose pipe connector?

The terms are often used interchangeably. A hose connector generally refers to any fitting that joins hoses or connects a hose to equipment, while a hose pipe connector commonly refers to fittings used with garden, water, and general fluid-transfer hoses.

Can hose fittings be reused?

Many threaded hose fittings can be reused if they remain undamaged and free from corrosion or excessive wear. However, clamps, seals and O-rings should always be inspected and replaced if necessary to maintain a reliable, leak-free connection.

How do I prevent leaks in hose connections?

Using the correct fitting size, tightening connections properly, selecting compatible thread types and regularly inspecting seals all help prevent leaks. Replacing worn hose pipe connectors and damaged sealing components also improves system reliability.
