Couplings

Motor Drive Coupling

With our wide range of drive and shaft couplings, you can ensure the efficient and effective transmission of power and motion from Point A to Point B in your machinery. So, if a drive belt isn’t the right fit, couplings could be just what you need.

At its essence, couplings transmit power and motion between shafts. However, as you can imagine, there’s a wide range of ways this transfer needs to occur, with plenty of other parts and elements to consider. This is why our couplings collection is so extensive, aiming to provide you with a robust selection of drive, shaft and motor couplings to choose from. So, you can expect to find options for flexible couplings to manage misalignment best, as well as rigid couplings to achieve maximum torque. We also have options that are excellent for shock absorption, while also limiting vibration and torsional oscillations. Whichever coupling you choose, though, you can be confident that it has been designed and made for an easy installation and max useful life.

ReFast: Built for Industry. Backed by Experience.

When you’re looking to transfer power and ensure everything is steadily moving along, we have a host of options to choose from. Along with our quality-made drive belts, we also have a wide range of roller chains. Available in different lengths, pitches and widths, you’re bound to find the chain that you need. Plus, we have easy-to-use connecting links available as well, so you can create a truly unique system that best satisfies your needs.

The complete ReFast range is made to make your life easier. From durable bearings designed for minimal maintenance to secure, convenient safety gear that keeps you and other workers safe, our catalogue is jam-packed with unbeatable products from leading manufacturers here and overseas. It’s all part of the ReFast service. Whether it’s fast, flat-rate shipping so you can get to work sooner or sourcing that specialist bearing you need, we want you to have a pleasant and satisfying experience shopping with us.

Motor Couplings for Efficient Power Transmission

A motor coupling plays a critical role in transmitting rotational power between a motor and driven equipment while helping compensate for shaft misalignment, reducing vibration and protecting connected machinery from shock loads. Selecting the correct drive coupling improves system efficiency, extends equipment life and helps minimise maintenance requirements.

At ReFast, we supply an extensive range of motor shaft couplings, including chain couplings, cone ring couplings, curved jaw (Rotex) couplings, HRC couplings, Lovejoy jaw couplings, tyre couplings and flexible NM series jaw couplings. Each coupling type is designed to suit different torque capacities, shaft configurations and operating conditions. Our experienced team can help you select the right coupling based on torque requirements, shaft size, speed and operating environment.

FAQs

What is a motor coupling used for?

A motor coupling connects the motor shaft to driven equipment, allowing torque to be transferred efficiently while compensating for minor shaft misalignment and reducing vibration. They are commonly used with pumps, conveyors, compressors, fans and gearboxes.

What is the difference between rigid and flexible drive couplings?

Rigid couplings require precise shaft alignment and are typically used where no movement is expected. Flexible drive couplings accommodate minor misalignment, absorb shock loads and reduce vibration, making them suitable for most industrial applications.

How do I choose the right motor shaft coupling?

Selecting the correct motor shaft coupling depends on shaft diameter, torque requirements, operating speed, alignment tolerance and the application. The ReFast team can help identify the most suitable coupling for your equipment.

Which type of coupling is best for high-vibration applications?

Flexible couplings such as tyre, jaw, and HRC couplings are commonly used in applications subject to vibration and shock loading. They help protect connected equipment while improving overall system reliability.

When should a drive shaft coupler be replaced?

A drive shaft coupler should be replaced if it shows signs of excessive wear, cracking, deformation, unusual vibration or reduced power transmission performance. Regular inspection helps prevent unexpected equipment failures.

Can motor couplings compensate for shaft misalignment?

Yes. Many flexible motor couplings are specifically designed to accommodate small amounts of angular, parallel and axial misalignment, helping reduce stress on motors and connected machinery while extending component life.

Warranty & Returns

ReFast supplies a comprehensive range of industrial products, with warranty coverage varying depending on the manufacturer and product type. If you need to make a warranty claim, contact our team by phone or email for assistance. Please note that Australian warranty or guarantee provisions do not cover products shipped outside Australia.

If you receive a damaged, faulty, defective or incorrectly supplied product, you may request a Return Management Authority (RMA) within 7 days of receiving your order. To qualify, the item must have been purchased within the last 30 days, remain in its original packaging, be unused and untampered with, and be accompanied by proof of purchase. Once approved, ReFast will issue an RMA number and return instructions, with products to be returned within 14 days of approval.
